Why do you need a pickleball-specific shoe versus traditional running shoes?
Traditional running shoes lack the ideal traction for a pickleball court and don’t have the support needed for the game’s sudden lateral movements or pivots. Selkirk’s CourtStrike shoe was uniquely designed for pickleball — every move, every point. Its technology has the comfort, stability, and traction necessary to prevent slipping and injuries, so you can go one more.
The CourtStrike pickleball shoe started as an observation — many pickleball players were using regular running or tennis shoes while playing. These lack the ideal traction for a pickleball court and don’t have the support needed for the game’s sudden lateral movements or pivots.
As we do with every Selkirk innovation, we first went to the drawing board with a mission: create a shoe uniquely designed for pickleball. Several prototypes later, the LABS S01 and S02 were released to our LABS members for testing and rigorous feedback. We truly believe that no product gets that Selkirk logo until we’re confident our pickleball community will love it.
Players loved the original CourtStrike shoes, but we didn’t stop there. We made data-driven design decisions using player feedback to make them even better.
